Prof. Dr. Andrzej Grzybowski - President of the Foundation

Prof. dr hab. n. med. Andrzej Grzybowski, Specialist in ophthalmology, provincial consultant in ophthalmology for the Wielkopolskie Voivodship (2010 - 2015), founder and initiator of projects of the Foundation for the Support of Ophthalmology Development "Okulistyka 21". Expert in cataract surgery, presbyopia treatment and retinal diseases. He is an international expert in the prevention and treatment of myopia in children - co-author of the recommendations of the American Ophthalmological Society (2020) and the European Ophthalmological Society (2021). Among the TOP 2% of the world's best according to Stanford University in 2019-2022.  According to the ranking Expertscape Worldwide ranking: No. 1 in the world for cataracts and No. 1 in the world for cataract surgery. Member of Academia Europaea (www.ae-info.org).

Author and co-author of more than 600 scientific articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Ophthalmology, Retina, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Acta Ophthalmologica, Survey of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, etc., and 9 books and textbooks (5 in English). Member of the editorial board of, among others, Acta Ophthalmologica, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of Clinical Medicine, etc.

Member of a number of scientific societies, including the European Eye Research Association (EVER) (Member of the Management Board and President-Elect), the European Academy of Ophthalmology (Member of the Management Board) and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) (Curator of the ESCRS Archive), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) (member of 3 committees) and the European Society of Retinology (Euretina) (board member 2016-2018). Lecturer at the European School of Professors of Ophthalmology (EUPO), organiser and co-organiser of courses at world ophthalmology congresses such as ESCRS, AAO, etc. In 2021, he published a book on artificial intelligence in ophthalmology entitled "Artificial Intelligence in Ophthalmology". Artificial Intelligence in Ophthalmology (Springer). In 2021, he received Prize of the Minister of Education and Science for significant achievements in scientific activities and Founders' Award awarded by the International Society for Refractive Surgery (ISRS), and in 2022 the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta from the President of the Republic of Poland).

Prof. Andrzej Grzybowski is among the TOP 20 most influential and inspiring ophthalmology specialists of 2023 The Ophthalmologist Power List 2023, and was named one of the top 20 professionals in the world.

Szymon Wilkanowicz

At the Foundation, she coordinates the work of the Foundation Office and the implementation of the "Diabetic Retinopathy Prevention Programme", as well as extensive cooperation with clinics and representatives of medical entities.
He is a specialist in the management of EU funds, but also has a background in auditing.
He started his career working at the Provincial Labour Office in Poznań in the EU Projects Control Department.
After leaving office He has managed a number of EU projects aimed at universities and students, cleared activation projects aimed at the unemployed, and dealt with investment projects.
He enhances his work and leisure with music, which for him is an integral part of life.
In his professional work, he is guided by the principle that there is no case that cannot be worked out in a table.

Natalia Galus

At the Foundation, she is involved in patient education. She is responsible for preparing the content of educational and promotional materials. She is responsible for media relations and promotion of the Foundation in social media.
