About the Foundation

Objectives of the foundation

The Foundation for Supporting the Development of Ophthalmology 'OKULISTYKA 21' has been active in the field of health care and health promotion and education since 2012. 

The aim of the „Okulistyka 21” Foundation is to support, free of charge, activities for:

  • improving the quality, modernisation and comprehensiveness of treatment methods in adult and paediatric ophthalmology
  • support staff development in ophthalmology and related fields
  • supporting scientific development in the field of physiology and pathology of the organ of vision and the visual process
  • supporting public education on the knowledge of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases
  • training medical personnel in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases
  • preparing analyses on the organisation of health care, including in particular the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

Aleksandra Lemanik

At the Foundation, she is involved in patient education. She is responsible for preparing the content of educational and promotional materials. She is responsible for media relations and promotion of the Foundation in social media.
She is a graduate of Optometry with a specialisation in Optometry at the Wrocław University of Technology. After graduation, she worked as an Optometrist in an optician's shop, where she was in charge of examining and correcting patients' vision defects.
Her professional experience allows her to better understand patients, which is very useful for her in education. She is sensitive to the situations of people with disabilities and has been running the Association for People with Disabilities and their Families "Pencil" based in Kepno for 4 years. Her master's thesis was on the quality of vision of people with disabilities.
