Information for parents on how to stop the progression of myopia
Nearsightedness is a visual impairment that involves the deterioration of long-distance visual acuity while maintaining good near acuity. It is caused by the excessive elongation of the eyeball, as a result of which light rays are focused in front of the retina and not on it, resulting in a blurred image. It is corrected with biconvex, so-called 'minus' glasses, which 'shift' the image formation onto the retina.
